I’m really proud of this article. It brings together many of the things I’ve been learning, exploring, and reflecting on recently. It paints a picture of interconnectedness — an understanding or point of view I believe is urgently needed in these times of separation. Where do you end, and where does the universe begin? Every breath, every touch, every flicker of warmth on your skin is part of a constant exchange with the world. You are not a closed container — you are a living process, inseparable from the environment around you. Your boundaries are not as clear as you might think. You are part of something much bigger!

In part one of this two-part series, I explore the physical side of our interconnectedness — how breath unites us with forests and strangers, how your skin listens to light, pressure, and humidity, how microbiomes shift with every journey, and how even your heart and brain create fields that ripple into the world. It’s a journey into the hidden exchanges that make “you” less an island and more a thread woven into a vast, living tapestry.
And I promise — almost all my claims are backed by science 😉
